Milan Magic – Our Style-Filled Adventure at MICAM's 100th Edition

What a whirlwind! Our recent trip to Milan for the 100th edition of the MICAM Shoe Show was nothing short of amazing. It was a fashion lover’s dream – a mix of inspiration, excitement, and pure sartorial joy. The buying team – myself, Jacinta, and Vivien – are all devoted shoe lovers and style enthusiasts, so walking into MICAM felt like stepping into fashion heaven.

5 Halls of Footwear Bliss

Held at the sprawling Expo Fiera Milano, MICAM spans five enormous halls filled with the most gorgeous shoes and handbags you can imagine. Even though we had three full days, it was impossible to cover it all – and we tried! From beautifully crafted leather loafers to sparkly heels and statement sneakers, we were constantly stopping to admire and (let’s be honest) squeal over every new find.

Each day, MICAM also treated us to a runway show that showcased trends for Spring 2026. The shows were elegant, creative, and so well curated – a true highlight of the event and a visual forecast of the fashion to come.

Fashion in the Wild: Milan Street Style

While the displays at MICAM were jaw-dropping, it was the street style of Milan that left us truly inspired. Women of all ages looked effortlessly chic, as if they had just stepped off the pages of a fashion magazine. And yet, the outfits weren’t fussy or overdone. It was all about thoughtful details – a well-cut jacket, a perfectly draped scarf, a structured handbag, or the ideal pair of shoes.

We were especially charmed by how everyday Milanese women dressed for life – shopping, walking their dogs, grabbing a coffee – in style. Whether in denim, slacks, or a simple skirt, their looks were always elevated by accessories: a belt that cinched just right, bold jewelry, or a scarf tied creatively to a bag or around the waist. It was inspiring to see how personal style and confidence created such timeless, ageless beauty.

Style Has No Age

One of the things that struck me most was how ageless style can be. Many of the women we admired looked so vibrant and modern, it was difficult to guess their ages – and honestly, it didn’t matter. Their confidence, style, and presence spoke volumes. It’s a beautiful reminder that fashion isn’t about trends or youth – it’s about self-expression and joy at any age.

Everyday Fabulous

Coming back home, I can’t help but bring a little of that Milan magic into my everyday life. Dressing well doesn’t have to mean being fancy – it’s about feeling fabulous, even for simple things like lunch with friends, errands, or yes, walking the dog. When we look good, we feel good. And as Milan showed us, sometimes all it takes is the right pair of shoes, a great bag, and a little intention.
